Your privacy, in plain English.
Last updated: 22 July 2026
Nimblesite builds, hosts and looks after websites for small businesses on the Kāpiti Coast. This page explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We've written it to be read, not to hide behind — and we handle your information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
- We only collect what you send us — mainly through our enquiry form.
- We use it to reply to you and, if you become a client, to do your work.
- We don't sell it, we don't add you to marketing lists, and there are no cookies or trackers on this site.
- You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, any time.
01 Who we are
This website, nimblesite.co.nz, is operated by Nimblesite — the trading name of Ian Taylor, a sole trader based on the Kāpiti Coast, New Zealand. When this policy says "we", "us" or "our", that's who we mean. If you have any question about your privacy, the quickest way to reach us is hello@nimblesite.co.nz.
02 What we collect
We keep this deliberately small. We only collect personal information you choose to give us:
- When you use our enquiry form — your name, your business name (if you add one), your email address, and whatever you write in your message.
- When you email or phone us — your contact details and the content of your message, so we can help.
- Basic technical information — like any website, our host keeps standard server logs (for example the IP address a request came from) to keep the site secure and running. We don't use these to identify or track you.
We don't run advertising, analytics or social-media tracking on this site, and we don't use cookies to follow you around. There is nothing hidden collecting data in the background.
03 Why we use it, and how
We use the information you give us only for the reason you gave it:
- To read your enquiry and reply — usually with a fixed price and a rough timeline.
- To carry out work you ask us to do, and to stay in touch about that work while it's underway.
- To keep our own records of who we've worked with, and to meet any legal or tax obligations a business has.
We won't use your information for anything else, or send you marketing you didn't ask for, without your say-so.
04 Who we share it with
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for anyone else's marketing. A small number of trusted service providers help us run the business, and your information may pass through their systems only so we can do the things above:
- Our website host (Cloudflare) — serves this site and processes your enquiry form submission.
- Our email provider (Microsoft 365) — delivers and stores the enquiries and messages you send us.
These are reputable providers with their own privacy and security protections. We only give them what they need to do their part, and we may also disclose information if the law requires us to.
05 Storage outside New Zealand
The providers above are international companies, so some of your information may be stored or processed on servers outside New Zealand. Wherever it's held, we take reasonable steps to make sure it's protected by safeguards comparable to those under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, as that Act requires (Information Privacy Principle 12).
06 How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we genuinely need it. Enquiries that don't turn into work are cleared out periodically. If you become a client, we keep what's needed to do and support your work, and to meet business record-keeping and tax requirements. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below), and we'll do so unless we're required to keep it.
07 Keeping it safe
We take reasonable care to protect your information from loss, misuse or unauthorised access — through the security built into the reputable providers we use, access limited to the people who need it, and a deliberately small footprint (we don't collect what we don't need). No system is ever perfectly secure, but we treat your information as we'd want ours treated.
08 Your rights — seeing and correcting your information
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can:
- Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
- Ask us to correct it if it's wrong, or to delete it if we no longer need it.
Just email hello@nimblesite.co.nz and we'll sort it out, normally within 20 working days. It's free, and we may ask you to confirm your identity first so we don't hand your information to the wrong person.
09 Our clients and their website visitors
When we build and host a website for a business, that site may have its own enquiry or contact form. Messages sent through it go to that business — they, not Nimblesite, are responsible for how they handle their own customers' information. We act on the business's behalf as the builder and host: we set the form up to deliver to them, and we don't use their customers' information for our own purposes, or for anything beyond running and supporting their site. If you've contacted one of our clients through their website and have a privacy question, please contact that business directly — though you're welcome to let us know if something looks wrong technically.
10 Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. For anything significant, the current version will always live here at nimblesite.co.nz/privacy.
11 Contact us, or make a complaint
Questions, requests, or concerns about your privacy — please get in touch. We'd genuinely rather hear from you and put something right.
If you're not happy with how we've handled a privacy matter, you can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, which is free and independent:
